The Good Neighbour Scheme Encourages Members of The Public to Work Together in Creating Safer Communities.

 Who Are Your Good Neighbours?


Good neighbours are not just the people who live next door.
They May live down the road or be a member of our community.
Good neighbours are those people in the community who are involved and assist in times of need.


 What Good Neighbours Do 


  • Collect the mail when you're away
  • Bring in your bin when it has been emptied
  • Feed your animals when you're on holidays
  • Go out of their way to be helpful
  • Are there for a coffee and a chat
  • Keep the community litter free
  • Look after your house when you're not home
  • Always around for someone in need
  • Give you a smile and say g'day

  • Help others to feel safe and secure

  • Always there to help out when you're in need
  • They care about your wellbeing
  • Help vulnerable members of the community
 
               

 How Can We Work Together As Good Neighbours? 


  • Greet our neighbours when we pass them in the street
  • Organise to get together throughout the year
  • Take the initiave and organise working bees to beautify your local community
  • Develop a phone network to call those in your community that may be unwell
  • Form a walking group to walk, talk and take some frersh air
  • Watch, look and listen for any suspicious activity and report it to Crime Stoppers
  • Make an effort to keep your neighbourhood neat and tidy
  • Offer a habd when you think someone is in need
  • Consider others and work together to build a safer community

If you can spare a few hours now and again to help publicise and promote the scheme, contact your Crime Prevention Officer at your local Police Station.
